Head Coach Mark D. Hedger is pleased to announce the signing of Tyler Abney to the Men's Basketball Team. Tyler is a 5'10" point guard from Republic High School in Republic, Missouri.
Tyler was a member of the Republic Tigers team that won the 2013 Class 4 State Championship in the state of Missouri.
Coach Hedger commented, "We are very excited to sign Ty for next season at BBC. He is a tremendous defender who has the potential to play a significant role in our pressure defense. In order to defend and press the way we want to, we need guards who can pressure and contain the dribbler. This is an area that I believe is a strength for Ty. He is coming from a culture of winning, which is important to the kind of culture we want to develop here. I feel he has the tools to become a strong offensive player, he just was in a program in high school that had several scorers and did not really need him to fill that role. More importantly he is a tremendous young man from a very supportive family and an excellent student."
Tyler joins Dakota Hall (Richland), Jordan Epling (Southwest), and Marty Minnis (Marionville) as commitments with BBC so far.
