Head Coach Mark D. Hedger is proud to announce the addition of Sterling Carter. Sterling is a 6'0" point guard from Evangelical Christian High School in  Fort Myers, Florida. Sterling was the starting point guard for two seasons and led the Sentinels to consecutive District runner up seasons. Sterling is the son of Mary Carter and Theodore Sottong.

Coach Hedger commented, "We are very excited to have Sterling join the Patriots. He is a talented young man who we feel can make an immediate impact. More importantly, he is an incredible Christ Honoring young man who will be a fantastic representative of what we are trying to accomplish at BBC on and off the court. He is a strong student and will be an excellent fit."

According to his Athletic Director:

"After transferring from Cape Christian to ECS for his Junior year, Sterling made an immediate impact on the court for the Sentinels. He was the starting point guard for both his Junior and Senior seasons and helped lead ECS to 2 consecutive District Runner-Up seasons. Sterling’s versatility allowed him to contribute on both ends of the floor.  During his time at ECS, he averaged 6.4 ppg, 3 apg, 3.1 rpg, 2.7 spg. One of Sterling’s most memorable moments in his ECS career was when he hit a pull-up jumper at the buzzer against Canterbury to win the game on the road. In addition to his impact on the court, Sterling’s character and charisma is what will be missed most by the team, coaching staff, and his many fans. Sterling will be taking his talents and likeability to Baptist Bible College next year where he will play for the Patriots. We look forward to seeing all that God has in store for Sterling, and are very grateful for the impact he has had on our program and school!"
